Driving While Stupid
We all know driving recklessly is an issue in every country around the world now as people die as a result of car accidents induced by reckless driving daily. The author of the article Driving Stupid, Dave Barry, decided to write the article on the most dangerous driving incident he had ever encountered on the road, which he backed up with references from the various cities and countries he had travelled to around the world. A drawbridge from my understanding is basically a bridge which is divided across a body of water which raises and separates in order for ships or large boats to pass. Now, for a driver to cross a drawbridge when it is rising you would need to be going at a ridiculously fast speed which was exactly what he was implying by mentioning the drawbridge. Now after reading that I could only wonder what terribly reckless driving was being done in Miami and then I saw it. Mr. Barry mentioned that while he was on an interstate in Miami he looked in his mirror and saw a convertible driving towards him at what he claimed to be 600 mph which I believe was some form of exaggeration. But that was not even the worst part, he claimed that not only was the man weaving back and forth across lanes, but after getting a clear view he saw that the driver was watching a music video while driving on a screen which was put in place of his Visor. This video screen was obviously blocking his sight of view and so he could definitely not see where he was going. If that is not the most reckless action of driving you've ever seen then I don't know what

Another example of insufficient driving in Miami that Dave gives is an eyewitness report that supports his theory that downtown Miami has the worst driver in the world. “I recently received mail from an alert reader named Kate Chadwick who reports that she drove behind a man who was SHAVING HIS HEAD, with his, ``visor mirror positioned just so, windows wide open for hair disposal, and for a significant portion of the ride, no hands on the wheel. ''(Barry…

Final Paper Assignment In “Driving While Stupid” the author Dave Barry is arguing that drivers in downtown Miami on I-95 are the worst drivers in the world. However, he states other major cities, such as: Boston, the Argentinean city of Mar del Plata, and China have horrible drivers as well, but nothing compares to downtown Miami drivers in the eyes of Dave Barry.
