People generally tend to deceive others for the purpose of good or evil. In Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Philip K. Dick sets the novel in the near future. Here, a nuclear world war, given the name World War Terminus, just concluded a few years ago in the year 2021. The destruction left behind in the aftermath leads to a radioactive dust covering Earth, killing many different kinds of life forms. The purpose of the androids that were created were to replace their human archetypes’ burdens of labour and assisted in the colonization of foreign planets. Many androids escaped from these tasks to try to live back on Earth illegally. Rick Deckard, the protagonist, is introduced as a bounty hunter working for the San Francisco police department.
