Both the passage of Boy's Life and the fable Emancipation: A Life Fable keeps various themes within the passages. Both keep in mind one's strive for freedom, but both convey the message in different ways. The character Cory from Boy's Life is a schoolchild in 1964, waiting for summer recess to begin. More importantly, he is human, a contrast to Emancipation: A Life Fable's character. Emancipation: A Life Fable uses an animal (presumably a lion or type of feline) to show how one is drawn by curiosity to freedom.…

At the beginning of Lucky’s Dream I never imagined where this book would have taken us over these past twelve weeks or so. I couldn’t have predicted the journey that lead four such uniquely different people to build a bond that bloomed into the most inspiring of friendships. From the beginning, Odysea and Jimmy had a one-of-a-kind friendship that slowly strengthened as their journey continued. It was their relationship, in my opinion that allowed for them to open their arms, minds and, more importantly, their hearts to Lucky and in the end Marion and Diane. It takes special minds, leaning abilities, and intelligences to undertake the events that began to unravel from the very first page of Lucky’s Dream.…

However, these lessons can be difficult to grasp at the time they are experienced as it may be through death or harassment. I found it interesting that the author decided to connect mental disorders and dancing together. The fact that Pat, played by Bradley Cooper, and Tiffany, played by Jennifer Lawrence, were able to overcome their mental illnesses by dancing together was significant. In addition, the movie showcased the changes in a family relationship really well and had unique characters that were different from previous movies I saw. For example, Pat’s father has OCD and believed in superstition, while Pat’s mother looked over the family quietly.…

Life in Context – The Developmental Analysis of Dwayne Hoover The most important developmental task adolescents’ face is the formation of a sense of identity (Erickson, 1968).
