In the frame stories David Moody uses random acts of violence that lead to bad outcomes like death.“ He ran at her and stabbed her with an umbrella. It was gross it went right into her belly.” (David Moody, 2006, pg .12) This quote shows the random acts of violence because the man ran at her out of nowhere. In this part of the book the two girls were best friends talking about a guy and walking together. Thy’ve been friends since little and treated each other like sisters. It shows the unthinkable violence you wouldn’t think could happen because there best friends and are so close. It shows that in their society how they handle things differently and how it affects them. you can’t even trust a person you call your sister to not harm you.
In conclusion, People will always do the unexpected ad that may be good or bad in this case it wasn’t good violence has become normal to their society and they have to deal with it everyday. The randomness is the scary part because the unexpected is always a surprise
