The book that I read is Counting by 7's. Holly Goldberg Sloan wrote this book. The story was about a girl named Willow (main character) you had parents that adopted her when she was young. When Willow was twelve, her adoptive parents died in a car accident and now she lives with a family that she met when going to Dell Duke (her counselor). That family is the Nguyen's. Now she is trying to find a place to not "temporary" live and be able to stay safe and be happy.

Willow had some physical and personality traits such as, she was adopted by Roberta and Jimmy Chance, she likes to garden, and she is very smart. A challenge and defining moment she faced was when her adoptive parents died in the car accident.
