He regarded holiness with compassion as the core value of Israel’s life and redefined holiness transforming its meaning. He is portrayed as a prophet, a sage- teacher of wisdom and a holy man who is led by the spirit and a proclaimer of the kingdom of God. The three topics of this book, conflict, holiness and politics are three very important issues to look at while trying to understand Jesus’ motives and ministry and why he did what he did. Overall the book was interesting and informative. As a theology student I usually learn about Jesus ministry and about Christ, and all theological, religious and holy aspects of his life and teaching. I really enjoyed reading this book because it talks about Jesus the human being and how he faced controversies and political debates just as any other person does throughout their life. It has given me a different perspective that I can now apply to what I learn about his mission and ministry. I enjoyed that it was not dense with terminology and was an accessible book to read. I would recommend it to not only students of theology but to normal people who would just like to learn about the historical
