Media, both domestic and international, has lately gotten more intense than ever before. It’s known to be for entertainment and information, but mostly entertainment. In the article, “Confessions of a news junkie who hides the news from his kids,” Barry Gittins discusses the topic of mass media. He asserts that it has misguided children and parents should take action. Gittins depicts how this new generation has opened children to use more technology. He suggests that technology should be cut down for the sake of connections with family. Gittins then describes events that have caused massive melancholy for those viewing tragic stories and disputes how discussing it to children is not something to do. From there, Gittins proclaims his responsibility as a parent and advises for other parents to do the same for the protection of children.
