Summary Of Chasing Lincoln's Killer

As I read Chasing Lincoln’s Killer I found myself going along with the detectives and killer of President Lincoln. First as the story in the book starts you are with John Wilkes Booth when he finds out that president Lincoln is coming to the play that night. So he is rushing around town to get his plan together by recruiting his team for the triple assassination of the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State. While you tail along for the first few chapters of only Booth and his partners: Lewis Powell, George Atzerodt, and David Herold. The only man out of this group that did not do his part was George Atzerodt who was supposed to kill the Vice President, Andrew Johnson. All the other men although did their part of the plan as best they could. Booth killed lincoln but broke a leg. Powell almost killed the Secretary of State but could not see the victim causing his failure. Last but not least Herold did not kill anyone but was the guide for …show more content…
In the book you will see pictures of showbills, news articles, and pictures. These objects are a proof of certain information that is given in the story. Even though at points about certain conversations do seem to be a little bit of a made up story for a nonfiction book. As I went through the book I really did not dislike any of the story for it gave information about the assassination. This information was put in a interesting way for the reader to feel like they are in the story. Although the flow of Chasing Lincoln’s Killer is not the best a book could be. In the book the point of view for each chapter changes from person to person, but in these changes the transitions between characters is quick. Changing between characters is tough, but the author could have done a better job. The book moved fast but to a good pace making me want to read more even though it is
