1. A multitude of technologies sprung up to help the growth of trade and agriculture. One is the compass created by China. The compass allowed sea traders to more accurately figure out which direction their ship was sailing and improved trade in the long run because traders could get to their destinations quicker as well as return home quicker. Another technology that promoted growth of trade were ships that could sail against the wind like lateens. This allowed trade in southern Asia to continue year round, not limited to monsoon season. One innovation that helped agriculture was the introduction of the three-field system where farmers would rotate their crops across three fields in order to preserve some of the nutrients in the ground. This practice was thought of and mostly used by manors in western Europe.

2. Factors like a supportive government, plentiful resources like gold, sugarcane, silk, etc., and a large amount of food all supported growth in the post classical era. A supportive government was essential for commercial industry to kick off for example the Byzantine empire allowed trade with other empires through Constantinople and their commercial industry became one of the reasons Byzantium was so

Migration in the post classical age spread language of different cultures around the world. When merchants traveled to different countries in order to carry out trades and business their language would sometimes be diffused into these other places which encouraged some people to become bilingual. One of the biggest linguistic effects of migration occurred in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Bantu people over the course of hundreds of years migrated across the majority of Central and Southern Africa and while they were doing this they left traces of their Bantu language behind them.
