In the caseworker’s observation it would seem that Casey’s reality is real, but she may be overly sensitive to criticism, which could stem from childhood abuses.
Her Cognitive functioning could be related to observing her own mother being continuously abused physically and mentally by her father and her own sexual abuses by her brother.
Due to Casey’s experiences and observations as a child, Casey has trust issues with men, low self-esteem, self- worth and self-image. She has judgement issues with picking the same type of partners over and over again. Her issues with men could be related to her issues with her boss. Currently Casey feels that with counselling and further efforts her thoughts about the issues surrounding work will begin to help in finding possible solutions.

When Casey speaks about her mother as her support system she brightens up and is thankful to have her help. When Casey discusses her mother’s abusive past, you can hear the resentment in her voice through her tone. When Casey discusses Christine, she appears happy yet she also appears to be disappointed in herself for not being able to provide her with more things and is angry at herself for not being there emotionally for her daughter. When Casey brings up her two cousins, she genuinely appears to appreciate them in her life and feels lucky to have them as an escape of her
