In Kentucky , five nursing homes, five assisted living facilities, and 20 family homes were randomly selected. The selections were chosen from the public facility directories which were made available by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. All the places selected agreed to take part in the study. He is diagnosed with depression, and he also has celiac disease. He is in the nursing home due to a stroke that has left him unable to physically take care of himself. In a few months, Rudolf has to get eye surgery. He would really like to have family support as he goes through this. He has lost track of his family and he is trying to get into contact with his family (Alla, 2016). Recently, he has felt down, he has not been attending groups which is rare because he always attends them. I shadowed my supervisor as he interviewed Rudolf. My supervisor was trying to figure out what was going on because Rudolf has distanced himself from others, which is not typically something he would do. He stated that “ he has felt lonely, and he misses his family”. He also mentions that “his parents passed away, but he has an older sister”. My supervisor and I are trying to get in contact with his older sister. Rudolf feels confident doing the surgery if he has family support to keep him company during the surgery (Alla,
