This article relates to the section titles “Becoming World Class” found in Chapter 18 of the Management text book written by Bateman and Snell. According to Bateman and Snell (2015), “World-class companies create high-value products and earn superior profits over the long run” (p. 602). Furthermore, to become world class, Bateman and Snell (2015) states that companies “demolish the obsolete methods, systems, and cultures of the past that impede their progress and apply more effective organizational strategies, structures, processes, and management of human resources” (p.602).
Tesla Motors is headquartered in California and was founded in 2003 by Jeffrey B. Straubel, Elon Reeve Musk and Marc Tarpenning (Forbes, n.d.). According to Forbes (n.d.),
