One of the main reasons Prometheus disliked his old society was their rules and controls. They consisted of rules that made each and every man and woman exactly equal to each other. There was no reason to do anything other than the job that the council gave to them and if they did otherwise they would be punished for being different. Prometheus, his previous name being Equality 7-2521, escaped from the detention to show the council of scholars his box that represented the scientific work of electricity. Then he escaped to the uncharted woods, to escape from the council after they rejected his box and tried to destroy his creations. It would differ, but not too much. I feel that Prometheus would make the rules much more lenient and he would let people be their own person by their own choice instead of having a team of councils choosing their life decisions for them. At the end of the book he states “They will follow me and I shall lead them to my fortress. And here, in this uncharted wilderness, I and they, my chosen friends, my fellow-builders, shall write the first chapter in the new history of men.” (Page 101). What he means by this string of words is that he will take his friends, who have the same hatred for the old society that he does, and unite them together in his new terrain to create a whole new chapter of life for the people in this
