In the Article of the Week, TheWeek.com discusses the topic of “America’s Killing Cotagion” and goes into about 3 general catagories; Are more mass shootings are happening, What drives people to do these terrible things, and How we can try to stop such tragic events from happening. Some main points that were discussed were mostly just that from about 2011 to modern days, the amount of mass attacks have increased to about three times as much. Three times as much might not seem like a big deal, but imagine 20 people dying every single year just because of a shooting. This number doesn’t even include the people who were injured or deeply traumatised by this experience. This was very eye opening because someone would literally kill a living breathing human being JUST because they got angry or upset? I mean maybe the stress and anger built up, but killing a citizen that you didn’t even affect your life is just plain jacked up. For example, let's say you shot 4 people because you felt like you were unsuccessful. One person could have been a single parent, and now those kids are orphans. Another person could have been a child, and now there family will forever mourn about the life that toddler could have lived. I just feel like it is so selfish to stop someone’s life JUST because you felt bad about something for one moment in your life.
