I have an action/mystery story that is 7,000 words. The story is titled Separation and Rebirth. I believe this story would be a good addition to your magazine Big Muddy.

Alice Harper went from having an average, happy life to losing everything in a matter of weeks. Her house burns down, nearly taking her and her sister’s lives with it. Alice’s parents send the two children away to live in another state. There, they stay with a strange woman that Alice has never met before. The woman, along with many other adults that Alice interacts with on her journey, is a member of a mysterious group known only as the “Imperial Eagles”. After being ripped away from her sister, Alice discovers that the “Imperial Eagles” are tied to the death of her parents.
