Eboo started his speech by talking about how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr inspired him to begin working towards interfaith cooperation. King wanted and he did it all peacefully. That is exactly what Eboo wanted to do only instead of race is faith. Eboo is trying to achieve his ultimate goal of interfaith cooperation peacefully by ways of teaching. Instead of killing people who don’t agree with him, he tries to teach them through speeches, classroom curriculums and rallies. This whole movement is surrounded around the youth; educate the youth and other adults that can then educate more adults and the youth.
Eboo then discussed what it would take for someone to be an interfaith leader. He said it must be someone with knowledge of all religion. This knowledge however cannot be all bad; it must be good and bad. It is very easy to watch the news and get negative ideas about other religions. But a future leader must look beyond this and find the whole story about a religion. A good leader must also be able to find common ground between religions. Just as common interest and ground between new people is key to friendships, common interest/ground is key to different faiths working
