“A Good Man is Hard to Find” by Flannery O’Connor is a short story with a surprising twist at the end. It is a story of a family traveling from Atlanta, Georgia to Florida with an elderly Grandmother that is very selfish. It is through the Grandmother’s actions that we learn not to live in the past. The Grandmother is so obsessed with the past that it has become all she lives for. She no longer values the life she is living now and does not stop glorifying what her life was like long ago. In the end it is because of the Grandmother actions and beliefs that the whole family ends up dead. The family is planning a road trip to Florida, but the Grandmother does not want to go to Florida. She tells the family multiple times that she wants to go
