Mistakes are made in every industry and funeral directors services are no exception. Even though the clients of these men and women are already dead, the mistakes can be just as horrible to the deceased’ family members as if they were alive. While there are many mistakes that can, and are, unfortunately made in this field, one surpasses them all; that is leaving of jewelry on the deceased instead of removing it prior to burial. The first step is to realize what has happened, who was involved and document Who?, What?, When?, Where?, and How? Next the funeral home will contact their legal representive and explain the mishap. They will also contact their insurance agency and aware them of what is going on. This is to be done the day of the case opening so that all of the strings are tied on the funeral homes end per se.
