Introduction
The parliament of Canada is known as the federal legislative branch of the Canada. The parliament is seated at the parliament Hill. It is located in the national capital, Ottawa, Ontario. The organization of the parliament consists of Canadian monarch, which is symbolized through a viceroy, the upper house, the senate, the governor general and the lower house. The governor general is responsible for the summons and it appoints the members of the senate, which are 105 in number. It consists of the 105 persons, which are selected through the recommendation of the governor general. The recommended members were confirmed after taking the advice from the Prime Minister. All the members, who are summoned for the senate through the viceroy, should be the minimum age of 30 years according to the constitution. The members should be subjective towards the monarch; they should own the property having the worth of the $4,000. According to the previous constitution, the senators could serve for life, after the year 1965, the constitution was amended and imposed that at the age of 75 the retirement is mandatory (Strøm, 2000). However, they have to resign from their seats in relevance to the prior to their marks and their position can be taken, if they failed to attend the two consecutive sessions in regards to the parliament. The senate of Canada is divided in the four geographic regions, which include the 24 for the maritime, 10 for the Brunswick, 24 for the Ontario, 24 for the Western provinces and 24 for Quebec.
