Someone that people trust and look to as a role model. Calpurnia is another leader in the book. Calpurnia is loving and is always nice to the Finches no matter what color skin they have. She treats Scout and Jem like her own children, and loves them very much. For example, Calpurnia loved them enough to bring them to her dark colored church. “I felt Calpurnia’s hand dig into my shoulder. ‘What do you want Lula?’ she asked in tones I had never heard her use” (135). This quote shows how much Calpurnia cares for the Finch kids. She stands up to Lula to help allow Jem and Scout into the church. She doesn’t care that people give her a hard time about caring for them, she loves them and sticks up for them.
