Pricing strategy influence both total revenue and total cost, which makes pricing the most difficult decisions company face. JC Penny wants to improve its pricing strategy and made some change to their traditional way. They imitate Apple’s pricing strategy and eliminating its store coupons. There is no doubt that Apple is a very successful company. However, JC Penny did not figure out the different between Apple and itself. Apple sales the unique and innovative product, which are not easily imitate. JC Penny is a retailer as Macy’s, Kohl’s and Wal-Mart who sale the similar products. The most failure for JC Penny is blind imitate and without precise positioning for itself.

I think the pricing strategy could have worked for JC Penny. However,
