Issue/Cause Group Contract

Kayla Birnie, Deborah Greene, Laura Jacovetty, Christy Woodward

The goal of our website is to showcase the mental illness issue among college students and inform people of solutions and organizations fighting against this. We aim to not only reach out to those effected, but also inform those who may be suffering that there is help and that they should not be ashamed. We will work as a team to create a Word Press site that is multimodal in nature, provides the necessary information and media, and effectively raises awareness and solutions to our issue.

National Surety contends a fourteen-page settlement agreement that resolved an end-of-work payment dispute was a substitute contract, entirely replacing a multifaceted AIA Contract for the construction of an apartment complex. Assuming, arguendo, that the 2007 settlement agreement could influence the operation of the Waivers—it cannot—National Surety’s argument nevertheless fails because the plain and unambiguous terms of the settlement agreement evince an intent not to “extinguish [] the old contract, by the substitution for it of the new one.” Leisner v. Finnerty, 252 Md. 558, 564 (1969). Rather, the 2007 agreement merely modified the AIA Contract, and the Waivers of the AIA Contract prevail because they are not inconsistent with the 2007…

Typically, one has constructive notice if a recorded deed in the chain of title contains the specific restriction. However, this is not always necessary. In Westland Oil Development Corporation v. Gulf Oil Corporation, the Texas Supreme Court addressed to what extent a reference to an unrecorded instrument within the chain of title could impart constructive notice to a subsequent assignee. Introduction Today, individuals have yet to realize the large impact mental, physical, and sexual health can have on their overall quality of life. I have witnessed this first hand, as my father suffered from depression for most of my teenage years. I saw him neglect to confront his issue, eventually causing him to lose all motivation to keep up with his physical health as well. Through this, I learned that a lot of individuals are not completely comfortable admitting they are struggling with their mental health, which I believe is due to the stigma society has created regarding mental health conditions. For this reason, I decided to join CCPL to work to reduce society’s negative stigma surrounding mental health as a whole.…
