To some, however, future paychecks are not a convincing enough argument to provide reason to pay for the average 4 year university. According to the article “Why Go to College” financial aid is not the only positive one gains from attending college. Being exposed to an immense variety of resources and professions can aid in discovering, “...the career path that matches your interests and motivates you to become the best version of yourself”. In other words, attending college helps lower the potential of ending up in a career one may not like, increasing one’s overall life satisfaction. Not only is the potential for job satisfaction higher due to college attendance, but one’s ability to live successfully as an individual is also increased. Personal development takes its form in gaining, “...confidence and git, [improving] writing and communication skills…” while also learning, “...how to manage time and budget expenses” (Rasmussen College). Each one of these skills is essential for successful independence, and attending college helps students attain these skills.
