Last January, my Boy Scout Troop partook in the Hopewell Klondike Derby. Our troop constructed a sled for the competition and prepared everything we needed in a long black box. In this derby each team is challenged to pull their sled along a course to several stations in which our boy scout skills are tested. Our team did fairly well at quite a lot of the stations, while we struggled on others.
Particularly we struggled to light a fire long enough to make a small tuna can filled with water boil.
Particularly we did well at the 2 by 2 rifle shooting event, physical prowess testing, and the knot tying knowledge quiz.
