Going into this class I assumed that this class would go into detail about the side effects, symptoms, long term effects, and psychological impacts that hallucinogenic drugs can have on the body. I figured we would be given cases or examples. I also figured maybe the professor would specialize in the area and give real life cases, or explain what has happened to friends/colleagues of their own. Also, maybe list jobs that specialize in this field, or former athletes or entertainers that suffered from abusing this drug.
The session only lasted about 25 minutes and we discussed the symptoms and side effects. We also all wrote on small pieces of paper whether we knew someone who has done these drugs and their overall experience when they took this drug. This session gave a good example of the negatives and just “what-ifs” these drugs may entail. This session was an eye opening experience to know just like that his life was taken over something that really wasn’t “happening”. It relates because many drugs cause psychological adjustments, and changes that a lot of people using never know about or don't care to learn before they start using
