Summary: Half The Sky Movement

Sometimes the abusers take advantage of women who want to reach a goal in their lives. They are promised fake opportunities and women who have no other choice see it as a chance to reach their goals. Victims never receive what they were promised and instead are used and abused. According to the Half the Sky movement, Agnes is a young girl in Sierra Leone who has a dream to become a doctor, but does not have the means to get their. Her parents died and she was offered an opportunity from her fifty-two year old teacher that “for sexual favors he would promise her that he would put her through school.” That was her only option, but rather than keeping his promise he sexually abused her and actually kept her from going to school. She did not have anyone protecting her.
