Ambition, motivation and determination are all personality traits that contribute to Dolly's success as an artist. She knew she would someday be a star, years before she boarded a bus headed for Nashville. These qualities also helped in the building of her successful family destination empire.

Before turning 40, her plans to open her own theme park were well underway. She launched Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction just two years after opening Dollywood and she was just getting started.

Dollywood doubled in physical size and opened Dollywood's Splash Country in 2001. Another of Dolly’s dreams was realized when she announced plans to build a family resort near the parks, Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort.
