This subject of the loss of voice has to do with the self-confidence girls have during the middle school age. There are many research articles out there that attribute their appearance and the way other people perceive themselves as a way of determining their outlook on things overall. The article I found titled “Concurrent and Longitudinal Predictors of Self-Esteem in Elementary and Middle School Girls” goes into detail of what self-esteem for middle school girls looks like when it comes to the predictors in their eyes.
