Summary: Clinical Dietitian Experience

Superior Essays
I am standing in the ICU about to make rounds with the medical team on my first day shadowing a clinical dietitian. I had already been working in the hospital first as hospitality and then as a diet clerk so I was experienced with the foodservice side of things but I was very excited to experience a day in the life of a clinical dietitian. As I move from patient to patient, I see the integral role that the dietitian plays in the healthcare team and the relationship to my diet clerk responsibilities. The dietitian coordinates the patient’s nutrition plan, either by mouth or through enteral or parenteral feedings. Maybe one day a dietetic student will be shadowing me.
I have had some struggles in the past as I figured out what my true passions were, but I feel like I have found the correct path for me in dietetics. This has reflected in my 4.0 GPA at TWU, my success at my nutrition job at the hospital, and my involvement in extracurricular activities and volunteer work. I am hardworking, determined and compassionate with a strong analytical mind. I believe that my unique education and experiences will make me an excellent candidate for your
