During the course of life, every person will experience many events, but there are a select few of those events that transcend the others. Those events can fall into one of two categories, either traumatic or joyous occasions, but none the less memorable. Of those extraordinary events, there are only one or two that every small and seemingly useless detail can be remembered for. In the course of my short life, I have been able to experience two such events, but, unfortunately, both have been negative situations. While I have never visited New York City, I, like many American’s remember where they were on September 11th, 2001, but unlike most outside of the Gulf Coast area, I remember where I was when Hurricane Ivan made landfall.…

It is hard to categorize an event in history as powerful or meaningful. An event that is powerful or meaningful to one person could have no meaning to another person. The 1990s marked the finish not only of an era but also a millennium. The decade running up to the year 2000 saw a lot of adjustment and anticipation, with many important events that molded not only the 1990s but our lives since then. That change transpired in every way you can imagine – civically, technically, and socially. With about 5.5 billion people in the world, the year 1994 in America was a year marked by the chaotic case of O.J. Simpson, heartbreak over Ronald Reagan's Alzheimer’s, and the changes in television with the hit sitcom Friends. America came up and peaked with an economic boom, providing 2.3 million jobs, however, global warming had become a major threat.…

Very rarely have we, as a species, experienced an event to tragic that it impacted how people behave on a global scale. Arguably the first turning point in human history to have a mark on the world in such a way, World War One, started with the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and ended in the death of tens of millions of men. I personally believe World War One is the most important event in the 20th century, because without it, there is no Hitler or Stalin. No Facism or World War Two. We probably wouldn 't have a Cold War, or see the conflict in The Middle East like we see today.…
