Currently working for a nonprofit agency we are contracted to manage several programs for the state. Last year funds were cut for a particular program that was implemented during the George W. Bush terms in office. Connecticut was chosen to pilot the program initially and due to our success it was implemented throughout the other states. The program was called Access To Recovery (ATR) and the problem the program was designed to address was to assist former inmates and people involved with the judicial system i.e. (parole, probation and court diversion programs ) transition back into society with needed supports. These services included faith base service, individual counseling, and vocational supports, supportive along with private housing
