Unfortunately because you are a TSgt right now, and the minimum required grade is MSgt, you can’t apply for it right now. However, when it comes time to finish your degree, you may very well make MSgt around that time, and then you will be eligible to apply. If you have to, you can PCS and it won’t hurt your school, because your degree will be finished by then. The AF will benefit because they are always looking for good First Sergeants, and they can send you where the AF needs you most at that time. Your ability to reach out to others (the I for PPS) will be good for this position. You are probably learning similar things as part of your ministry degree, which will help you become a great First Sergeant to Airmen in need of help. Your college classes are filling that block right now, so for now, I think you are on the right track. Your ministry studies I believe will help you become a good mentor to those underneath you, to be a better listener, which will help you better take care of others, at work and in the church. Your people will learn from how you listened to and cared for them, and this will spread when those people use your experience when they help their people, no matter where they move on in the AF, long after they leave AFLOA. You are already good at reaching out to people, and influencing them, based on your PPS profile.
