My next source is an online journal article called Fast Food in the United States and my last source is from the internet. It is a column titled How Fast Food Has Changed Our Nation. When evaluating my book source, I found that it is a reliable source. The information is current, often referring to events such as 9/11 in the introduction of the book. The book has relevant information to my topic including this statement from its introduction: “For another aspect of the signifying power of the Golden Arches, consider McDonald’s role in the changes that have taken place in American education and the expansion of corporate power in everyday life over the past few years.” The author of the book, Joe L. Kincheloe was a professor and has written more than 45 books, which assure me that his book is reliable. As far as accuracy, Kincheloe includes where he retrieved his information from. His sources are also credible. This book’s information has the purpose to inform others and Kincheloe makes that clear. He is not here to persuade but to bring awareness to other about this situation. When I examined my journal source, I also found that it passed the CRAAP test. We don’t realize it but everything we see is information. Every time we watch the news, read a poster, or read an email, we are seeing information. If we don’t know how to comprehend that information than that is certainly a large issue. Information is the reason why our world is so functional. Think of the medical field for example. Would doctors be able to save lives if they didn’t go to school and learn all of that information? The answer is obvious.
