Have you ever wondered why a song got stuck in your head and what it is called? “ A song stuck in your head is called an "earworm." (Science Friday) Songs get stuck in our head, because music does something to our brains. “Music cognition research suggests that earworms could have something to do with how music affects the brain’s motor cortex, according to Margulis. When people listen to music, “there’s a lot of activity in the motor planning regions,” she says.” (Science Friday) This is what getting a song stuck in your head is called and why it happens.
