Morrison is known for her epic themes, rich detailed of black characters, and her vivid dialogue. Her literature impacted race, gender, and class as living in someone’s eyes according to a black's perspective. By this she talked about the ranks of class during the segregation years and how rough it was for a black just to pass by a white neighborhood. But they’re not just chapters such as “1,2,3” and so on, but these chapters have a meaning. Every chapter is a whole different new year or more than a year to show some time lapse of the characters’ future and what they face. Morrison is known for her memories and flashbacks that she includes in her writing to “spice” things up in a way. A way to entice the plot which she’s great at it. But these, of course, involve flashbacks to grab attention from the context of the story which her descriptions of the memories are to show a true meaning and symbolize things.
