This year, the topic I researched was about marriage. Throughout the process of writing my research paper, I was able to learn many things about my topic and about myself. I learned a lot about marriage and many of the factors that affect it. The topic of marriage connects to my curriculum through the novel Sula by Toni Morrison. This novel includes many instances where the girls were married at a young age. There was a character named Pearl who was married at the age of fourteen. There was also one of the main characters, Nel who was married at age seventeen or eighteen. During my research of marriage, I learned that child marriage still occurs.
