Suicide Vs Traditional Bullying Essay

What causes more rates of suicide cyber vs traditional bullying? Suicide is a big problem in our society today. It may be caused by many things in the person’s life. Teens are more likely to commit the act of suicide because they may be subjected to bullying at home, school or even cyber-bullying. This can lead to teens who are vulnerable to start feeling horrible about themselves, which then will lead to suicidal thoughts. When teens are subjected to bullying anywhere in life they may tend to grow up more socially anxious, with less self-esteem and require more mental health services throughout life (NVEEE). When teens grow up with this kind of treatment as they grow up they will not be aware of what effect it has had on them, they feel they have no self-worth because they have believed the people bullying them, that they are worth nothing. Traditional bullying may be less harmful than cyber because cyber bullying can happen all day and night while traditionally it only happens at school. Also cyber can have a global audience and traditional has a much smaller audience. Parents may not know that cyber-bullying is happening to their child, as for bullying at school the child may come home beaten up or even physically drained out. Parents will most likely be able to tell when their child is being harassed. When your child is exposed to cyber bullying it will be less likely to notice because it is happening online and your child will be able to delete any evidence of what had happened. With just a click away from it being gone forever but for the person getting this harassment from anyone will always remember what that person had to say about them. It will bring their self-esteem
