Imagine someone in your family, one day they start acting differently and you ask them what is going on. They tell you “I’m fine, nothing’s wrong” and you let it go. But one day you get a call from the police station saying the person committed suicide, you beat yourself up everyday because you could of done more to help them, but you didn’t know the signs of suicide. Society needs to learn the signs of suicidal people, no one knows the signs because they often blend in with people having bad days, but then those bad days turn into bad weeks or bad months. Society needs to realize everyone is different, if you help someone and they get better, and you try to help someone else they might not get better because they

People of all ages use drugs to get “high” or to knock themselves out. People across the United States are using illegal drugs to harm themselves or sell to other people who want to commit suicide. According to the CDC, they counted, “Thirty nine thousand suicides” from the use of drugs. (Peterson 12). The people who are using drugs to kill themselves do not realize that if they use too much they can kill themselves. What would happen if they overdosed while their children are home? Doctors need to have tests done on people before they get medicine so they do not abuse their use of the medicine. Doctors need to get the right amount of pills for their patient so when they are out they cannot get anymore. Children are more than capable of getting pills from other kids or older adults giving out random drugs that can cause harm to whomever is taking the pills. Stated by the American Association Suicidology mentioned that people under the age thirty commits suicide “every two hours” with the use of drugs (Peterson 12). It is not likely that someone older than twenty-five will overdose, but if their life starts going down hill then they will start using or start using again. When you are older you have more access to drugs, but when you are younger your access is limited. People can get random pills from their family and distribute it to anyone they want to. They could be taking medicine from people who really need it to get better. Drug overdose has gone up “20% from the previous year” while overdosing on pills ( New Scientist 1). Drug overdoses are a serious matter and need to be handled carefully. They can get everyone else infected depending on what drug they use to hurt themselves. If a police officer or paramedic touches the deceased person, that drug can most likely get on the police officer or paramedic and if they inhale the drug they might have to go to the hospital and get
