Suicide Effects Everyone Suicide is the act of taking one’s life for many possible reasons. Suicide has become such an important cause of death across the world, it is currently one of the top leading causes of death in America. It is known that on an average one person across the nation commits suicide every 16 minutes, but that is just in America. Suicide has become sadly very popular, around the world on the news we hear about terrorist attacks, many of those attacks have been considered suicide because the people involved end up killing themselves one way or another. Suicide branches out in many different ways, meaning there are different types of suicide. To be exact there are four types which were invented by sociologist Emile Durkhiem. …show more content…
Egoistic suicide would be the type of suicide that a person commits because they feel that they do not fit in well with others, they feel like they have nothing going for them in life. An example of Egoistic suicide would be is if a person commits suicide because they think that nobody likes them or they are always stressed about everything. Fatalistic suicide is common, for example prisoners or people who always are under higher power, they feel that they can’t take it anymore always being under so much security and they have no freedom. Anomic suicide is the type of suicide that is common for those who feel frustrated with everything, they feel like they can’t each any of their goals. Life for someone that commits Anomic suicide is also because they went through an experience in their life that they can’t get over, an example would be if someone gets raped they feel that they can’t function through life anymore they feel embarrassed with themselves. The last type of suicide is Altruistic suicide, which is the type of suicide that a person commits because they have been convinced by someone higher than them that it is the right thing. They commit it thinking that the results will be positive. A very popular example of Altruistic suicide would be a suicide bomber, when they are part of a group they are convinced that their action will be for the good of
