There have been several speculations about Common’s character in the film since he was spotted on the Suicide Squad set covered in tattoos, but will the former rapper actually portray the villainous Tattooed Man?
Common recently spoke to Complex, where he was asked to comment on his Suicide Squad character.

Director David Leitch (“John Wick”, “Atomic Blonde”) and writers Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Ryan Reynolds considerably decreased my enthusiasm about Deadpool with this discouraging second installment of the Marvel Comics franchise. In 2016, Tim Miller (his next move is a reformulated episode of Terminator with Schwarzenegger) was more efficient in his approach, causing a positive impact with his depiction of the subversive anti-hero and drawing a legion of fans, who rejoiced with the irreverence of the character. Insolent, defiant, often violent, and having a spiteful tongue, Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) is a disfigured yet physically indestructible mercenary whose body enjoys an extremely accelerated healing factor. After losing his beloved girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) in a sudden enemy attack, Wade tries to commit suicide by blowing himself up. In the course of his recovery, he befriends a mutant kid named Russell Collins/Firefist (New Zealander Julian Dennison), who is not so kind-hearted as he looks.…

Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight is one of the best iterations of Batman since the concept of Batman was first created in 1939; the film offers easy to digest bites of philosophy and a deeper look into human nature. At the same time, The Dark Knight provides insight into society's views on mental illness, what society believes mental illness looks like, and society's views toward the justice system. The Dark Knight is the highest grossing Batman film since the first Batman movie (ironically named Batman: The Movie) in 1966, and was even awarded "Movie of the Year" by AFI Awards. Despite the film's success and acclaim, what does The Dark Knight say about society's views on mental illness and our justice system?…

His story has taken on many different forms from comics, to TV series, and to today’s modern cinematography. However, I want to discuss the story of Batman and its famous characters based off of the 2000’s version of the current films. We have all come to know Batman as a vigilante who fights bad people as he conceals his true identity as Gotham’s renowned playboy and millionaire, Bruce Wayne. In Deadpool (2016), Ryan Reynolds plays a character called Wade Wilson, also known as the superhero Deadpool. The film follows the life of Deadpool and the many adversities he faces, such as finding out he has cancer, having to leave his girlfriend, and going through an extremely painful treatment. It also shows the entertaining parts of his life where he is a hit man, and his many drunken experiences. This superhero challenges the traditional hero narrative because although he helps many people throughout the film, he does not conform to the ideal of a hero. These differences between a usual superhero film and Deadpool make for an interesting twist in the cliché superhero story that viewers are so used to seeing because he doesn’t want fame…

When we think of Batman, the words “hope”, “justice”, and “incorruptibility” come to mind. He is The Dark Knight, a bat vigilante who fights to keep the fictional streets of Gotham safe. He is arguably one of the greatest superheroes ever created. He fights crime and faces some of the most insane villains in comic book history. What makes him stand out from the rest is that, as Wikipedia states, “unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers; rather, he relies on his genius intellect, physical prowess, martial arts abilities, detective skills, science and technology, vast wealth, intimidation, and indomitable will.”…
