The third Suicide Squad trailer has just been unleashed at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, and it looks like the next DC flick will be well worth the wait. The new teaser features more of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn (and we mean MORE), Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller and even a quick glimpse at Ben Affleck’s Batman! Plus, there are plenty of jokes, mostly at the expense of Jay Hernandez’s El Diablo!
The clip opens with the villains still in their cells while a question is raised: “What if Superman had decided to fly down, rip off the roof of the White House, grab the President right out of the Oval Office? Who would’ve stopped him?” Waller pitches a brilliant idea: “I wanna build a team of some very bad people who I think can do some good.” Deadshot (Will Smith) has the perfect reaction to the plan. “Y’all jokers must be crazy!” he says before doing some target practice.

“This is the deal; you disobey me, you die. Try to escape, you die,” he tells the team. Just as he says, “You irritate or vex me,” Harley interrupts by stating. “I’m known to be quite vexing, I’m just full warning you.” Flag simply finishes, “You die.”
There is plenty of new footage of the impressive action sequences in Suicide Squad, and there is no shortage of humor either. However, it looks like the joke is on El Diablo. Jai Courtney’s Boomerang taunts the hot-headed firestarter with a lighter, and Deadshot confronts Diablo to show off his pyrotechnics. Once the show is over, he immediately says, “I was just trying to get you there. No hard feelings, right?”
There are more shots of Batman in action, suggesting that the DC superhero could be getting plenty of screentime in the film.
Suicide Squad is directed by David Ayer and also stars Jared Leto as The Joker. The film crashes into theaters on August

The lead artist for the show, Bruce Timm, soon came up with a sketch for this new female henchman, “a silly little sidekick” (3), for the Joker. Sorkin was soon asked to come in, and voice the character she inspired. Harley’s premier episode “Joker’s Favor,” was meant to center around just the Joker and Batman, of course. Dini and Timm had a welcome surprise at how this female villain stole the show; causing her character to be brought back throughout the series. Along with the multiple appearances in Batman animated shows, Harley Quinn received her own comics, video games, and soon to reach the movie theaters as a major role in DC’s Suicide Squad movie.…

Homosexuality in the comic book world has been been a pressing topic in the industry as of late. With the growing push for LGBTQ reprenstation in mainstream media, it has become an even bigger discussion. With all the other major media, comics have been very involved in the push for inclusiveness. There have been two same-sex marriages on the covers of the Astonishing X-men and Archie, and the first transgender comic book character, the roommate of Batgirl, Alysia Yeoh, was introduced. It seems like gay characters are new to comic books, but they actually appeared as early as the ‘60s and ‘70s in European, Asian, and indie comic-books.…
