Many people believe that kids are impossible to commit suicide but they are wrong in many cases it is kids that are committing suicide. Studies have shown that “each day in our nation there is an average of over 5,400 attempts by young people grades seven through twelve.” (http://jasonfoundation.com/prp/facts/youth-suicide-statistics/) Common causes for kids to commit suicide are bullying, mental disorder, domestic abuse, emotional neglect, and or sexual abuse. The National Suicide Prevention lifeline was established in two thousand five to help and emotionally support people involved in the crisis. The lifeline is considered one of the biggest ways of helping people with their suicidal thoughts, of course there are plenty of other ways to prevent. Other ways to prevent suicide are psychotherapy, medication, taking notice of the signs, and talking about it. Psychotherapy also known as talk therapy is a way to help people with suicidal thoughts to think of alternative ways of how to work with their emotions. Medication such as TCA’s and MAO’s are just some of the few antidepressants that can help with depression which is a main cause of suicidal thoughts. Taking notice of warning signs is very important because now that person can have a person or people to help them with the issue. Some signs can be trouble sleeping, isolation, sense of hopelessness, and speaking of suicide.
