Suicide Is The 3rd Leading Cause Of Suicide

Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for people ages 15-24 and the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. This is often related to many things such as bullying, home life, and the pressures of the school system. Teachers and guidance counselors just shrug it off and assume everyone gets picked on telling them that they should ignore the bullies. Not only that but these issues can lead teenagers to low self-esteem leaving mental scars. People need to be more aware of these situations and do something about it.
If there’s anything teens need to know it is that they are not alone. Schools and hospitals need to make support groups. This will provide a safe place for teens to vent about their situations. They won’t be judged by adults saying that they’re “too dramatic” or “it will go away.” More people are going through their situation than they think.

They come to guidance counselors or therapists to vent for someone to understand how they feel. Schools and counselors should give more advice on self-esteem and worksheets that can help with the situation. They would be surprised how much this would help.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. The colors are purple and turquoise along with the ribbon. World Suicide Prevention Day is September 10th. This should be a day the community joins together wearing purple and turquoise to raise awareness of the situation and how it effects not only teens but their parents and families
