God has giving us life and therefore he is the only one that can take it away. In my belief committing suicide is a sin because as the 6th commitment say, ‘You should not kill’ and committing suicide is killing one self. For this reason, I believe that suicide is wrong, and that Kant has a valid point. What I don’t agreed with is that Kant argues that a man that commits suicide should be treated like a thing and if he tries to die and don’t kill himself should have no value. We shouldn’t judge anybody for anything they want to do with their lives, I am assuming that if someone wants to die if because is going through a hard situation in life. What we can do is try everything to help that person everything it takes rather than judge him/her. On the contrary, I believe that Dr. Szasz arguments are not valid because he argues that if a human being desires to kill himself it shouldn’t take away that freedom of will. And most important that suicide is not a mental illness but a desire that an individual has, and physician should not interfere because they are not going to cure their problem. I certainly believe that people that want to die is because they need help of a professional and that would be a physician or psychiatrist. It might be that a person is suffering from drug addiction, alcoholism, violence abuse, etc. therefore it needs rehabilitation and medication.
