Each year, more than 35,000 people commit suicide in the U.S alone, no one can agree on a way to slow down these numbers (6). Think of suicide like a river leading to a waterfall. Beginning to have depressed thoughts or actions is at the mouth of the river. However suicidal thoughts would place you near the fall. People have tried suicide hotlines, therapy, and many other things. However, none of our leaders have decided whether to concentrate our efforts upstream to prevent depression or to focus on people who are further downstream or on the edge. We need to raise funds for these projects and boost people's consciousness to the fact that suicide is the 14th biggest cause of death in The United States alone. Be especially attentive to the persons showing these signs if they had already attempted suicide in the past. Every one of those people would be wrong. People who are suicidal, still have a huge percentage of survival. (SAVE,3) Save.org states 12 in every 100,000 suicide attempts actually die. Suicides can be ineffective, or the person can change their mind or realize the insanity in which they've been living their lives. Ways to solve this problem nationwide would be “Support from government policy, A conceptual framework, Well established aims and goals,Measurable objectives, and Ongoing monitoring and evaluation(4).” Statistics show that suicide went down considerably in many countries after the installation of suicide strategies.
