Throughout the play several people seek revenge on someone else. One being: Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, wanting revenge on his uncle , Claudius, who is one to blame for the death of his father. When trying to revenge his father by killing Claudius he accidentally kills Polonius, the father of his childhood friend, Laertes. Which led to Laertes seeking revenge on his father's behalf. This all starting through the beginning of the play where Hamlet is in a grieving stage due to the passing of his father and his mother remarrying his deceased brother.
As the story moves on we grasp the concept that not all revenge should be taken. And not all revenge is sweet. Do to the fact that his, once, loved one, was soon driven to madness just like he was. Hamlets suicide moments are brought up many times. Act 1 scene 2, Hamlet states that he wishes of his flesh melting into a pile of nothingness. Also, his famous soliloquy of “To be or not to be” (Act 3 scene 1), shows his contemplation of dying by his own will. With all of his back and forth of this thought, he finally decides not to go through with it. Due to the fact that he would end up in hell during the afterlife.
