Anne Farris Rosen, author of "School Discipline," explains what is going on with schools and their discipline policies as well as what type of students that are usually affected by these policies. She explain what the schools are doing with the students who have problems with mental disorders that are getting into trouble or having trouble with the schools. Regardless of students causing problems, sometimes they just have their own problems with their family or their friends and do not know what to do. Some schools have things like peer counseling to help students discuss their frustrations or have a mediator when they have to confront someone with a problem. This has been helpful for people who have a bully, but there needs to be a change in the way it is given out, that is why there needs to be a class that focuses on ways to help students in many forms not just talking. With the diverse school there should be a diverse set of people trying to give out forms of treatment and this will help everyone that needs it. The teachers will not know how to react, however the school staff should also be taught how to respond to the students who actually need special care that way if someone were to come up to them and ask for help, they would be prepared. The type of new things that would be taught to both the teachers and students, are the types of disorders that are out there and that there are various forms of treatment for people that really need them. No two stories are alike when viewing an illness because of a person 's genetic code or special circumstances so everyone should be reminded even if they have doubts about a way to get better or are given a way to help people know that the way they are feeling will not last forever because if a person really wants to get better they will. The best way is through support from the people that care about them, a positive outlook and patience. It should not matter what the students are doing, so long as they get the help they need without hurting themselves or the people around them.
