They can’t cope with the pain in life and they having run out of ways to cope with their daily pain. A common pain that these people feel is the result of bullying from being different than everyone else. John was ridiculed for being different and singled out because of his ideas and beliefs. John acts in ways that are deemed socially unacceptable in the Brave New World but would necessarily be acceptable on the Reservation. The people in the Brave New World did not like that John was trying to change their ideas. John felt isolated and alone just like at the Savage Reservation. People have a thought in their head about what is right and “normal”. Once anyone in the Brave New World sees someone that is breaking that social “normal”, they criticize them. It is logical to think that it is extremely hard to break these instincts to avoid what is different. Personally I am all about a “you do you” kind of lifestyle yet I still find myself judging people from afar. I will look at someone and judge on what their like based on what they are wearing and the way they look. The way someone looks is especially terrible because no one can help the way they look. Someone can only change their appearance so much. I think that if society made themselves more open to the idea of different lifestyles there would be less criticism and judgment on everyone’s part. Even though I am stressing society to be more open, I think that I need to acknowledge how far we have already come. I am proud to look at what we have stopped deeming unacceptable. I know that many teens are still unsure about whether to come out about their “abnormal” sexuality but there are so many others who are proud to say that they are gay, bisexual, transgender, etc. There are large groups of people who are standing up in groups for Pride parades. I think that we need to continue to facilitate these ideas in
