This article is written about the verdict which found Dr. Jack Kevorkian guilty of second degree murder back in 1999. Dr. Jack Kevorkian, or better known as “Dr. Death”, was sentenced to a minimum of 10-25 years in prison after “video taping himself injecting Mr. Youk, who was paralyzed, with lethal chemicals”. However, Dr. Kevorkian did not gain the title of “Dr. Death” directly from this case; rather, he was known to have facilitated at least 130 assisted suicide cases prior to Thomas Youk’s, with no serious legal charges pressed against him. So, what made Youk’s case differ from others one may ask? The physical examination shows that there was blunt trauma to the head and the wound indicated a fall against a solid object. The only visible injury was a small head wound at the right temple. This shows that suicide and homicide are unlikely to be the manner of death, because there would've been more injuries if it had been a homicide or a suicide. It wouldn't be unknown because there is enough evidence to determine a possible cause of death. I believe that Anna's death was most likely accidental or natural.…

Suicide is defined as the act of taking one’s own life intentionally. However, what causes this tragedy is much deeper and intricate than someone simply choosing to end their life using one method or another. It takes several key factors to play in at exactly the right time, or perhaps the wrong time, in order to cause somebody to commit suicide. The grief doesn’t end when the victim dies either, it’s carried on by the friends and the families of the victim; it’s carried by anyone who the victim influenced or inspired. Suicide is a horrible tragedy that is caused by health and environmental factors, and leaves a gaping scar in those left behind.…
