“That 's the thing about suicide. Try as you might to remember how a person lived his life, you always end up thinking about how he ended it.” (Cooper). Suicide is a life altering event, not only for the person who commits suicide, but also for the surviving family members and friends. Family members might turn to each other in search of answers. They want to know what drove their loved one to commit such an appalling thing, and subsequently begin to blame themselves or each other for not realizing that the victim was mentally unstable. Family members are tormented by the thoughts of what if… They might also begin to think of any signs that they missed or any warnings signals displayed by their lost one.

When a person is in this stage he or she feels they can no longer bear with the pain or shame and they decide to take their life and they have the intention of succeeding. This is more common with the elderly and seems to be the highest of any age group world wide. It can be assumed that the individuals who reach the age in life when nothing seem to matter in your life anymore feel that they have become a burden, they have no job, their social life is minimal, and ultimately they loose interest in life. Although death is a hard issue for many, we all have to experience it in our lives at one point. Everyone grieves in their own way, and there is nothing that can be done to speed the grieving process; this is something that you learn to cope with and live with through out time. Everyone copes in their own way, many emotions can be displayed: blame, anger, confusion, disappointment and guilt.
